Tuesday, Mar 1, 2011
6:30pm -> 8:00pm
American University of Beirut (AUB)

The Fine Arts and Art History Department cordially invites you to a lecture and performance on theater and art, entitled Theater with Dirty Feet.

Rabih Mroue actor, director, and playwright, and contributing editor for the Lebanese quarterly Kalamon, is one of the founders and board members of the Beirut Art Center association (BAC). In 1990 he began producing his own plays, performances, and videos. Continuously searching for alternative and contemporary relations among all the different elements and languages of the art of theatre, Mroue questions the definitions of theatre and the relationship between the space and form of the performance and, consequently, questions how the performer relates with the audience.

Mroue is one of the recipients of the New-York based Foundation for Contemporary Arts Grants for Artists 2010 award and the Spalding Gray award, New York 2010.
