Joumana Haddad

Joumana Haddad has a full and ever-expanding portfolio of work and straddles different media while attracting plenty of controversy in her native Lebanon with outspoken views on subjects like sex, equality and religion.

She is the only women to have edited the cultural pages of Lebanon’s daily newspaper An-Nahar, has a degree in biological sciences and speaks seven languages.

Haddad is a member of the Board of Trustees that award the International Prize for Arab Fiction and also has a teaching position at the Lebanese American University in Beirut.
