Derrière le miroir.. Recent paintings by Andrea Carreno

Born in 1969 in Chile, Andrea Carreno lives and works between Paris and Santiago.
Carreno has a degree in Fine Arts from the Catholic University of Chile in 1992. In 1994, she was invited by the National Museum of Fine Arts in Santiago opened the exhibition circuit. Her first solo exhibition was held in 1998 at the Art Gallery of the University of Concepcion, in the center of the country. Since then, her work is regularly shown by the Marlborough Gallery in Santiago de Chile, to the Elite Fine Arts in Coral Gables, Florida and the Fertile Eyes Gallery in Paris. For her first exhibition in Beirut, the Alice Mogabgab Gallery will present seventeen recent pieces of her work. In colorful interiors with unusual perspectives, paint, laid in flat tints, blends intense drawing in pencil, like a freeze frame as a break in time. Verandas, windows, stairs and doors lead the eye. The objects, placed in a specific disorder, enchant and lead the visitor into the dream world of the artist behind the mirror
