Hiba cannot be described as a “traditional Arabic singer” although she sings traditional Arabic songs from the period between the 50s and the 80’s.

She creates her own sound, a sound that is far from being considered traditional Arabic or oriental music, but a new kind of dub, mellow with an edge and rooted in strong melody. Hiba has drawn together an extraordinary collective of musicians to company her singing in order to create a combination of traditional and cutting-edge, bringing together ancient Arabic traditions and electronica.
