The Metropolis association and the Goethe-Institut in Beirut team up for the first time of the year to launch a totally new experience: a cine-club dedicated to the contemporary German cinema. Once per month until December 2012, the audience will have the occasion to discover a new German feature presented and acclaimed in several international film festivals.
12 months in Beirut, 12 films from Germany: Throughout 2012, German Currents offers the opportunity to engage with current artistic approaches in cinema from Germany. Costume Film and Tragedy, Comedy and Romance, Contemporary History and Financial Thriller. The movies surprise by their diversity of genres. While the directors move through various styles, their characters travel across Germany and around the globe.
The screenings will be regularly held in the presence of special guests, director, actors or members of the shooting team.
