C U NXT SAT 18.02: The Passive Sandouts in concert

The Passive Standouts, winners of the Global Battle of the Bands Lebanon 2011, live in concert.

Started in 2007 by Ian and Rami, The Passive Standouts have been practicing and writing music relentlessly for the past 3 years to give indie rock its well-deserved exposure in the Lebanese scene.

Karl joined the band at the end of 2007 and the band started rehearsing in Ian’s basement and writing songs such as I AMsterdam, DnA and Not Today during its first few months.

After a break during the summer and fall of 2009, during which it was mistakenly believed that Karl had gone to France to continue his studies, all 3 members were reunited and started working on new material, which resulted in the songs The Bomb Squad Is Dead, A King’s End and the latest song, Mrs Hyde.

In 2011, the band wrote a new song called One Devious Bastard. It also participated in the GBOB (Global Battle of the Bands) and won the competition after the national final on August 13 and will go on to represent Lebanon at the GBOB World Finals which will take place in June 2012.
