Doha Chosen For The Global unveiling Of Mouawad’s $6.8M Snow White Princess Diamond Watch

The diamond-studded Snow White Princess wristwatch makes its global debut at the Doha Jewellery and Watch Exhibition 2012. Special guest and former Miss Universe, Natalie Glebova, will be on-site modelling the $6.8 million dollar timepiece as well as select items from the Mouawad Haute Joaillerie masterpieces.

Dubai, UAE February 21st, 2012: Mouawad, the legendary jewellery and watchmaker with 121 years of history, today chose Qatar as the location for the very first unveiling of its latest one-of-a-kind creation, the Snow White Princess Diamond Watch. The diamond women’s timepiece, valued at $6.8 million USD makes its global debut at the Doha Jewellery and Watch Exhibition (DJWE), the region’s leading event for the luxury jewellery market. The watch will be on display at the Mouawad booth throughout the show, which runs to February 26th.

Seen for the first time anywhere in the world, the diamond-studded wristwatch born of the Swiss watchmaking excellence of Mouawad’s snowy Alpine factory is crafted from 18K white gold and meticulously layered with 233 colourless diamonds of varying sizes. With a total of 106.93 carats, the Snow White Princess is another extraordinary example of the mastery, exquisite attention to detail and absolute artistry that the Mouawad name exudes.

“Mouawad is renowned for creating one-off items that use only the world’s finest gemstones and precious metals. The Snow White Princess Diamond Watch is a unique timepiece that combines our passion for the highest quality gemstones with the 121 years of experience in design and craftsmanship,” said Pascal Mouawad, Co-guardian of Mouawad. “We delighted to be here in Doha today to debut this extraordinary item for the many jewellery lovers and connoisseurs at DJWE. After last year’s unveiling of the Guinness World Record-holding Mouawad 1001 Nights Diamond Purse, we wanted once again to surprise and delight exhibition goers and make their visit memorable”.

Visitors of the exhibition were not only dazzled by the Snow White Princess Diamond Watch but also by the presence of one of the most beautiful women in the world, Natalie Glebova. The international model and former Miss Universe made a special guest appearance at the Mouawad booth, wearing some of the jeweller’s statement Haute Joaillerie pieces which have made the brand a favourite of the region’s royalty as well as Hollywood’s A-List.

“Qatari women have a great appreciation for the very best in haute joaillerie, and own some of the most important and valuable jewellery pieces in the world – including some of the very finest and rarest pieces Mouawad has ever created,” said Mouawad Co-guardian Fred Mouawad. “This is one of the reasons why have chosen DJWE as the location for the global debut of the Snow White Princess Watch, and why we are so excited about the opening of our flagship new generation Mouawad store at Doha Lagoona Mall [next month / later this month].”

Mouawad is exhibiting a hand-picked and extensive selection of its pieces, from its Boutique Collections Lava, Rosette and Flower of Eternity, to the one-of-a-kind and exquisite Haute Joaillerie sets that have helped build the Mouawad name over generations. Handcrafted with the finest and most unique diamonds and coloured gemstones, these exquisite, timeless sets have been seen on major celebrities and royalty from around the globe.

The Snow White Princess Diamond Watch, Mouawad jewellery collections and Objets D’Art will be on display at the Doha Exhibition Centre at stand number 8 until 26th February.
