In the framework of activities held by the group "Reddo el Masrah la Beirut" (Reclaim the Theater for Beirut) aiming for the protection of Beirut Theater, you are invited to attend a theatrical event and protest against the closure of the theater and against the diminishing cultural and public space in Lebanon. Your presence makes a difference !
A big number of artists and concerned activists are participating in the event through :
- A group of Clowns inviting and welcoming people in front of Al-Madina Theater, starting 7:00 P.M.
- Puppets shows at the entrance and stairs of the theater
- Presentation of a theatrical protest play engaging not less than 25 plays and more than 50 actors.
- Following the event is a march towards Beirut Theatre in Ain-El-Mreisseh.
In parallel to the event, on the 27th of march, theaters in Beirut: Al-Madina, Sunflower, Babel and Monot, are changing their name, in a symbolic act, to become “Masrah Beirut”. And the group is inviting all the theaters in Lebanon and in the Arab world to join this symbolic act.
