Satyananda Yoga: Public Workshops with Swami Omgyanam & Swami Mudraroopa

NOK Yoga Shala is honored to welcome two Swamis from the Bihar School of Yoga in India for three days of public workshops exploring the practice and theory of Satyananda Yoga. These workshops will incorporate asana (posture) practice, pranayama breathing techniques, yoga nidra and guided meditations, and lectures by the Swamis. These workshops are suitable for all levels and participants are welcome to attend one or all of the three days.

Swami Ogyanam was initiated into Satyananda Yoga in 1988 and took sannyasa (monastic vows) in 1999. She has taught meditation andyoganidra at the Bihar School of Yoga and now divides her time between Munger Ashram in India and Belgrade, Serbia, where she teachersrelaxation and meditation. She also writes for numerous publications on subjects of Yoga, Yogic philosophy, and the art of meditation.

Swami Mudraroopa, M.D. began practicing yoga early in life and in 1988 recognized Satyananda Yoga as his path. After completing medical school, where he specialized in rehabilitative medicine and acupuncture, he left for India in 1995 to meet his guru, Swami Niranjananda. He stayed at Munger Ashram and completed a Master’s in Applied Yoga at the Bihar Yoga Bharati university. Having taken sannyasa, he continued to live at Munger Ashram, where he teaches yoga, practices yoga therapy and writes for a number of magazines on subjects of yoga.
