Service Design Workshop

Friday, Jun 29, 2012
9:30am -> 1:30pm
Beirut Design Week 2012

With Giulia Bazoli & Eeva Campbell

Design is no longer just about designing expensive chairs or making pretty websites. In fact, design is all around you. Where? From the experience you have when taking a flight, to how secure you feel when making an online purchase. From the way you move around the city to how you deal with your health. Service design is about tailoring these experiences. This workshop from Giulia Bazoli and Eeva Campbell will introduce you to this vast discipline. You will explore practical methods and how to apply them in your approach to design, for your business and for the world around you. Come with an open mind and find out what service design can do for you.

Giuila Bazoli (IT) is an interaction designer. Her user-centered approach is applied in diverse ways. She has worked on projects such as putting the fun into sustainable water consumption for Italian children; improving the hospital experience for Singaporean and Malaysian patients and educating rural Indian women about their health and hygiene. Exploring behaviours in different contexts drive her outcomes to make a lasting impact.

Eeva Campbell (UK) is a multi-disciplinary designer. She currently works in Cologne, Germany, where she specializes in using interactive story-telling as a communication method. She has worked on projects for companies such as adidas and BMW. On a less commercial level, she enjoys facilitating participatory processes where users, stakeholders and designers can come together to tell their story about real issues to inspire inclusive solutions.

There is a participant limit of 15. Price: $20. This is a 5 hour, one day workshop.
