On Wednesday, July 25, the lunch menu at Tawlet will be inspired by the new book Jasmine and Fire: A Bittersweet Year in Beirut, by Salma Abdelnour.
Salma is a New York-based food and travel writer who contributes to Food and Wine, Time, Travel and Leisure, the New York Times, and many other publications.
Her food memoir, Jasmine and Fire, is about her recent attempt to move back to Beirut and search for home after leaving Lebanon as a child during the civil war, and the book is filled with her Lebanese food adventures, recipes, and culinary experiences from the past and present.
A buffet will be available and a book signing session with Salma Abdelnour will also take place.
