Hassan Diab

Hassan Diab graduated in the year 1981 from Leeds Metropolitan University with a Bachelor’s degree in Communications Engineering. In 1982, he received his Masters degree from the University of Surrey, and in 1985 his Ph.D from the University of Bath. He is a registered, chartered engineer in both Australia and the UK. Diab has also received 13 regional and international awards. Moreover, he is a “Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering” at the American University of Beirut.

1998 – 2001: Chairman of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the American University of Beirut.
2004 – Present: Board of Trustee of Dhofar University, Oman
2005 – 2006: member of the Scientific Research Council of the Sultanate of Oman
2006 – Present: Vice President for Regional External Programs at the American University of Beirut.
June 2011: Appointed Minister of Education & Higher Education under Prime Minister Najib Mikati.
