Outer Maquam in the Metro

Metro Al Madina is receiving the Outer Maquam band in concert. The trio traces out a unique space of improvisation that dwells at the outer edge of Arabic Maqam, Rock, Jazz, and micro-tonal music using the idea of Saltana as its guiding light through uncatagorizable soundscapes.

The three players intertwine distinct sensibilities together to create music that is at once meditative, disturbing, melodic, and textural.
