Minus 5, a new multidisciplinary space in Mkalles for concerts, workshops, and exhibitions is hosting a photography exhibition by photographer Roody Khalil, entitled “Symmetricity.”

Symmetricity is an attempt to look at different cities from a common perspective. The result is a collection of photographs that tend to blur the differences in culture and architecture, making each photo hard to place.

As a visitor to any city, the challenge is not to accept the simple touristic first impression, and try to look beyond the new landscape to something more familiar; as if to say: “I’ve been here before. “

Symmetricity is a state of mind, because what is obviously similar in one’s experience, might not be for others.

All the photographs where shot on film, and the prints are made from scans that are not retouched, only cleaned from some dust and scratches.

The opening of the exhibition on Thursday, September 27 will feature a concert by Zeid and The Wings at 8:00 p.m.
