Jala Makhzoumy Talk at Robert Mouawad Private Museum

Monday, Dec 3, 2012
6:00pm -> 7:30pm
Robert Mouawad Private Museum

Jala Makhzoumi is a landscape architect, pioneering theory and practice of ecological landscape design in the Middle East. She serves as consultant to projects that include rural heritage conservation, postwar recovery and sustainable urban greening.

The talk elaborates on the origins of the Beiruti house garden. An overview is given of the components of a traditional Beiruti Garden based on surveys undertaken between 2002 and 2008, concluding with the demise of the garden in a city that is increasingly becoming a concrete jungle.
