Trucks of Lore

Bumper stickers are often hilarious, wise, or downright stupid. Now imagine Arabic calligraphy in place of the stickers. Same meaning, but oh so much prettier.

“Stop staring” says one of many messages written on the back of this truck, tweeted by @sdarine. “Protected,” says another.

A more serious, folklore-y type of phrase states “The chest of the modest is his keeping chest.” I’m not entirely sure what it means, but it sounds rather wise. Perhaps that which is most treasured is that which is kept safe. Maybe the chest is a torso, and we keep our valuables/emotions hidden inside. Maybe it’s just not supposed to make sense.

“The chest of the modest is his keeping chest.” What does that mean to you?
