Act for the Disappeared was formed by a group of independent activists not affiliated with any political parties.
The movement was launched during the two-day event held on the occasion of the International Day for the Disappeared on September 3 and 4, 2010. The NGO is accredited formation by the Ministry of Interior.
The mission of the NGO is to engage Lebanon’s youth and larger segments of society in efforts to address Lebanon’s past legacy of enforced disappearances and find a meaningful and sustainable solution to the issue of those who disappeared in the country since 1975.
The mobilization continues to attract concerned individuals and associations with the hope of working together to find a meaningful and sustainable solution to the issue.
