Nasawiya Gathers Donations for Achrafieh Victims

Calls for help and unity were heard all over Lebanon, thanks to the efforts of many.

In order to help the victims of the Achrafieh bombing, several efforts were organized that asked for donations, including “Achrafieh for All.” In a show of unity and humanity, Lebanese people everywhere amassed to donate supplies to feminist activist group Nasawiya, shown in a picture uploaded to their facebook page.

Though the bombing has left many in negative hopes about Lebanon’s future, we can at least take comfort in knowing that, politics and religion aside, we are all Lebanese. And when we see displays of charity – purely for the sake of good faith – we can all hope a little more for the Lebanese fate. For though we are not perfect, at least we actively help others.
