Man vs. Nature

One of Beirut’s greatest idiosyncrasies is its ability to conjoin both natural and urban life in the loveliest ways possible.

Tweeted by @justZHM, this picture captures the essence of Beirut. A stop sign is entwined with a blossoming tree somewhere on the streets of Hamra.

Despite the cosmopolitan noise happening in the background, the tree seems to be thriving amongst its metal surroundings. Man versus nature.

And, judging by this weekend’s storm, we all know who’s going to win.
