Clay Expressions Exhibition at Art Circle

Art Circle is hosting an exhibition by May Abboud entitled Clay Expressions. In this body of work, ceramist Abboud explores the use of textures on her sculptures. Be it vessels or masks, these surfaces are inspired from nature as well as from the rich cultural heritage inherited, such as embroidered dresses, copperware and traditional Bedouin jewelry all exhibiting a rich exterior quality. Using a variety of fabrics, from netting to lace or other textured objects, she imprints onto the clay, and at times enhances the surface with a subtle color.
