Argentinian Cuisine Can’t Get Better Than La Estancia

Last week, La Estancia restaurant in Gemmayzeh hosted a classy evening and said goodbye to its rooftop lounge until spring. Making the most of the night, the restaurant also launched its brand new menu of Argentinian awesomeness, featuring delicious salads, appetizers, main courses and desserts.

What you should try:

1. Ensalada de Queso de Cabra
I’m not a big fan of warm goat cheese, but I honestly adored this dish. Infusing sweet and salty flavors in a refreshing mix of fresh ingredients, the salad contains lettuce, radish, walnuts, pear pieces and cherry vinegar sauce. A salad worthy of mention and large enough to share, the Ensalada de Queso de Cabra is a creamy compilation of everything salad should be, leaving you guiltlessly satisfied and totally invigorated.

2. Parrillada Completa
Crisp sausage, grilled chicken, savory steak and creamy mashed potatoes are all served in a heaping pile of meaty heaven, cooked to perfection and made to share. With a range of selections for every type of meat lover, the Parrillada Completa allows for consumption of the tastiest kind without the hassle of choosing. This is how meat should be eaten.

3. Alcachofa Argentino
Artichoke hearts cooked to perfection and smothered with goat cheese, olives, basil, tomato and smoked creamy purée, the Alcachofa Argentino is the perfect entrance into Argentinian cuisine. Arriving in bite sized pieces, the only downfall of the dish is that there just isn’t enough of it. So why not order two?

4. Peras al Arándano Agrio
A dessert made for demigods, Peras al Arándano Agrio is unlike anything I’ve ever eaten before. An interesting mix of a cooked pear covered and seeping with ricotta, cranberry and vanilla sauce, the dish confuses the pallet in ways previously unencountered. A biting sour sensation hides beneath a warm ricotta, only to be masked by a sweet infusion of vanilla and cranberry. And really, confusion has never tasted better.

Fresh ingredients, superb cooking and tasteful presentation all combine to deliver a totally authentic Argentinan experience. So what are you waiting for? La Estancia is calling.
