The Unbearable Lightness of Witnessing Release at Plan Bey

Plan Bey is hosting the release of the publication of The Unbearable Lightness of Witnessing Release by Chaza Charafeddine. Echoing the work of Francis Bacon in seeking to materialize the images of violence that have become part of our daily lives, Charafeddine develops a series of photographic self-portraits, “images of her face, “witnessing”, as she calls them.

This special publication by Plan Bey and Chaza Charafeddine gives a new dimension to the project, reflecting the artist’s approach and her own usage of mirrors in the production of the work.
