Let’s Keep What’s Left of Old Beirut

In artful plea to Culture Minister Gaby Layoun, David Habchy, and with him, the people of Lebanon, ask to preserve the Lebanese culture—or what’s left of it.

Featuring a poster reminiscent of old cinema—what with the roaring lion and panning microphone—the message, translated from Arabic, reads “Mr. Layoun, please keep intact what’s left of old Beirut, and thank you.”

Phrased politely, the request is not all that hard to meet. All our Culture Minister actually has to do is stop destroying stuff. And that’s not too hard now is it?
