One look at any wall in Gemmayzeh or Hamra, and you’ll know you live in the city.

Wherever you go, there are layers upon layers of posters that are strewn almost carelessly on nearly every empty wall. Their constitution is no doubt damp from the rain—and so they merge together, becoming a fusion of parties, plays, singers and ads. And really, that’s what the wall is for… messages and advertisements; a ready display of today’s culture right in front of your eyes.

And who knows—maybe one day those same posters we pass by daily might actually be a historical reference or a museum collection. Or part of some hipster’s bedroom.
