Code4Change at Lamba Labs

Wednesday, Jan 30, 2013
8:00pm -> 10:30pm
Lamba Labs

Lamba Labs is holding weekly Build Nights where you can build something for social change in Lebanon. This week however, they are holding a special tribute to Aaron Swartz, a talented young man who wielded his programming and writing skills as an internet activist. Demand Progress, the online group he founded, is known for its campaign against the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA), which shook us all not so long ago.

In order to answer Swartz’s call for social change, Lamba Labs is hosting a build night focused on projects that are geared towards social change in Lebanon, such as: creating a website for the Anti-Racism project, visualizing election data to prevent corruption, creating a low-power device for emergency broadcasting of location, creating artwork for public street installations to nurture public awareness, and much more.
