Lawmakers in the joint parliamentary committee approved on Tuesday the controversial Orthodox Gathering draft which would lump Lebanon into a single district in which sects elect leaders based on the proportional representation system. The law requires a vote by Parliament’s General Assembly before it can be adopted for the upcoming elections.
