Anti-Sectarian Satire Hits the Lebanese Music Scene

The only thing I like more than an awesome musician, is an awesome musician with a sense of humor.

The king of the underground Lebanese music scene, producer and musician Zeid Hamdan posted a new event on his Facebook page Wednesday, jokingly listing various entrance fees according to sectarian affiliation.

This, of course, was a snide reference to the Orthodox Gathering’s draft electoral law, approved by a joint parliamentary committee on Tuesday, which would lump Lebanon into a single district under which each citizen would only be allowed to vote for a list of candidates from his or her own sect.

Three words for you: Well done, sir. And don’t forget to check out Zeid’s concert on February 27.
