Protesters Boycott Guns N’ Roses Due To Israeli Ties

After much confusion and excitement, it was confirmed that legendary rockers Guns N’ Roses are slated to perform at Forum de Beyrouth on March 30.

Hundreds of fans have thus far tweeted and facebook’ed their excitement, yet not all are appeased. A rally of protesters have taken to the internet to boycott the band’s impending performance, due to the fact that their guitarist performed the Israeli National anthem at a Guns N’ Roses concert last year in Tel Aviv.

Forming a Facebook group called Campaign to Boycott Supporters of Israel in Lebanon the protesters aim to raise their objections through social media, using the hashtags #NoZionistAnthem, #Lebanon and #BDS.

Though it’s a little late to start the protesting, I gotta give kudos to people for using social media for a notable–thought perhaps ineffectual–cause. I’m just waiting for Guns N’ Roses electric guitar performance of the Lebanese anthem to really make up my mind.
