The Art Circle Gallery is hosting an exhibition at Mazen Khaddaj called “Bonds”. As suggested by the exhibition title “Bonds”, this body of work is inspired by life’s human relationships. Khaddaj takes inspiration from his social life and surroundings, portraying people as well as animals, with himself being a main subject in the work.
Characters are often distorted, have stretched necks and carry big wide eyes that long for some attention and communicate to the viewer curious expressions. Through these facial expressions, figures create a particular atmosphere and speak a range of emotions: surprise, peacefulness, happiness, complicity and at times, concern.
