Betroit: Because We Couldn’t Come Up With A More Creative Title

Now, getting over the fact that Betroit is the worst movie title I’ve heard since Alvin & The Chipmunks: The Squeakquel, IMDB thus far gives this movie a pretty apathetic rating of 5.7 over 10.

Currently showing in several cinemas in Lebanon, Betroit follows the stories of three families in two locations–Beirut, Lebanon and Detroit, Michigan. (Hence, the fabulous title).

It’s meant to be a look at the often-at-odds relationship between the U.S and the Arab world, and follows the issues of domestic abuse, love, and the differences in culture. Which almost makes the movie’s title a little more bearable. Almost.

Sigh. I kinda wish they called it “Detrut”.
