The Many Odd Phrases of Arabic

The Arabic language is arguably one of the most intricate and beautiful languages in the world.

It’s also one of the most confusing. What with phrases like “Massakar rasi,” (humorously depicted below) “ana m’dapress,” “men temmak la beib el sama”, “bala zoghra”, and the ever infamous “kiss me again”, it’s no wonder that foreigners–and even other Arabs–are totally lost when it comes to understanding our languages.

We’ve got puns galore (some of which I’ve added below) and no shortage of adjectives for description. In fact, you’ve never heard a proper Lebanese conversation unless you’ve heard it in French, Arabic and English. And of course, with plenty of swear words.
