Iran Cleric: Women to Blame for Earthquakes

Proving that women really do rock our world, The Guardian reports that a senior Iranian cleric blamed Iran’s most recent earthquake on scantily-clad women.

Claiming that their promiscuity (a half-hijab or the occasional ankle) has plagued Iran with natural disasters, the cleric, Hojatoleslam Kazem Sedighi, makes no mention of young Iranian males, blaming only the fairer sex.

“Many women who do not dress modestly … lead young men astray, corrupt their chastity and spread adultery in society, which increases earthquakes,” said Hojatoleslam Kazem Sedighi.

He goes on to advise Iranian’s to invest in prayer and religion as a preventative measure for any further earthquakes.

Still, I can’t help but find his advice a bit shaky…. I mean imagine being so attractive that you cause earthquakes. And here I thought you could just make beds rock.
