85-year-old Salah Tizani Jumps in Pool for LBC Celebrity Splash

Salah Tizani, the famous Lebanese actor behind Abou Salim, was one of several Lebanese “celebrities” who took the plunge as part of LBC’s odd show, Celebrity Splash.

Clad only in swimming trunks, the 85-year-old funny man jumped into a pool to the tunes of a celebrity montage, and appeared surprisingly lithe for his age.

Though I totally appreciate Tizani’s enthusiasm, I have to admit that the show itself is just plain ridiculous. Why in the world would people want to watch “celebrities” in full make-up, hair extensions, and friggin’ glasses (not even kidding–skip to 00.23) jump into a pool?

I’d say #onlyinLebanon but I’m pretty sure this show targets the legion of Arab countries who still refrain from showing bikinis on television. And now they get to see aging celebrities don overly-skimpy outfits to parade their overly-strutted stuff.

Because why choose logic when you can have great ratings?
