Wadi Qannoubine Hike with Adventures in Lebanon

Adventures in Lebanon, in association with Roumana, is pleased to be organizing for the second consecutive year a hiking event with picnic lunch targeted to families for children’s health.The event location will be to Wadi Qannoubine, the holy valley known as Wede El Eddissin, at a distance of 83.9km from Beirut and on an altitude of 1450 meters.

The first part of the event will begin with a two hour hike in one of the deepest and most beautiful valleys in Lebanon, known as Wadi Qannoubine and located in the Northern part of Lebanon. The valley is scattered with caves, chapels, hermitages and monasteries cut from rock. You will start your trail from the top of Haouqa village and going down the valley, where you will be visiting one of the monks on you way to St. Marina convent.

The second part of the event will be about discovering the first printing press in the Middle East, located in Qozhaya Monastery. This Monastery was founded in the year 745 AD on the slopes of the valley of Qannoubine and it was restored in 1283 AD. It had been the first Maronite school in 1624.

Participation fee: a special offer of $12 per person including transportation, insurance and guides is offered to encourage children and adults to participate in in this healthy living campaign to highlight interesting healthy family activities that promote the importance of movement. There will be a pit stop along the way to buy water and food supply. An additional 10$ is to be added for those who desire a lunch box.
