Summer Festival 2013 at The Sunflower Theatre
As part of the Summer Festival 2013, the Sunflower Theatre is hosting a performance of the play “1001 Roses”.

Synopsis: The play tells the story of a seed who dreams of growing up fast to become a mature rose like her mother.

As the days and seasons pass, the seed grows up, and in turn, becomes the mother of a new seed who will have the same wish as her mother before her. The play poetically deals with the four seasons and all the meanings and ideas about time and the stages of growth.

Visually, it relies on impressionist art to represent the four seasons both in color and form. The play’s video animation draws from the work of such artists as Vincent Van Gogh, Claude Monet, Paul Gauguin, Pierre Auguste Renoir, Paul Cézanne, Gustav Klimt, Paul Klee, Henri Rousseau and Pablo Picasso.
