Khalil Gibran’s The Prophet Set to Hit Theaters in 2014

One of the most timeless pieces of Lebanese history is set to become an up-and-coming movie, again.

Except, instead of this:

We’re going to be getting this.

Push aside your fond memories (indeed, if there are any) of the 2011 low-budget film by Gary Tarn in favor of the 2014 animated blockbuster-to-be. With a stellar voice cast featuring the likes of co-producer Salma Hayek (who, by the way, is Lebanese), Liam Neeson, John Krasinski, and talented child actress Quvenzhané Wallis, the movie is, as described by IMDb, going to be composed of “chapters” from animation directors from around the world.”

In charge of the film’s central narrative is big name director Roger Allers, who is well known for his work on several Disney films, including The Lion King, Aladdin, Beauty and The Beast, and The Little Mermaid.

Other directors include Gaëtan Brizzi, Paul Brizzi, Joan C. Gratz, Mohammed Saeed Harib, Tomm Moore, Nina Paley, Bill Plympton, Joann Sfar and Michal Socha.

Sounds *ehm ehm*….. prophetable.
