Join Artlab as it hosts an exhibition by Maher Kouraytem called “Stripped”. Kouraytem’s canvases are distinguished by a raw and stylized representation of his human subjects.
With an intensive approach, the artist’s compositions revolve around the nude and portraits of women, a subject matter that brings him peace of mind and tranquility in a world dominated by chaos.
This persistence on depicting the nudes as the solitary subject for most his works, the artist drives the viewer into giving them different connotations each time; as if these nudes relate to our existence as naked individuals in a giant social collective, each searching for our own comfort zone in the noise and confusion of it all.
