Mashrou’ Leila Wants You To #OccupyArabPop

In a nearly eight minute video, Lebanese Arabic Folk band Mashrou’ Leila calls on their fans and fellow music-lovers to help them raise $66,000 to “properly release, promote and distribute” their new album, Raasuk (They Made You Dance).

In the video, the deputy editor in chief of Al-Akhbar newspaper, Pierre Abi Saab, joins key cultural figures in the Lebanese art scene to talk about why they love the band so much and how joining this crowdfunding campaign could help Mashrou’ Leila reach global success in the music industry.

“Help us demand better art, help us occupy Arab pop, tell the world change is coming and it doesn’t have implants.”
