The ‘Super Lebanese Wedding Proposal’

Who doesn’t love a wedding proposal that’s just dripping with grand gestures and over-the-top romance?

In this “Super Lebanese Proposal” video posted to YouTube on July 12, 29-year-old Fouad Khairallah travels from Kuwait to Beirut to surprise the love of his life, Remy, with a wedding proposal.

Remy thought she was going to see the new Man of Steel Superman flick with her brother, but instead she ended up watching a short flick starring Fouad that leads up to an adorable proposal. Spoiler alert: she says yes.

Creative stunts like this are nothing new to the Internet, and this one in particular is basically a Lebanese remake of Matt and Ginny’s marriage proposal in 2011.

We got in touch with Fouad via email, and here’s what he said about the whole thing: “I’m the kind of guy who cannot live in a routine. I insert the element of surprise into almost everything I do… I just love to see the reaction on people’s faces when they are surprised… so I found that Matt’s idea of a proposal was the closest to how I was thinking of proposing to Remy. Besides, that is the best way to capture her full reaction: on tape, because it stays forever.

Even though it’s a copycat, we still love the concept. Wishing Fouad and Remy many happy years together. Mabrouk!

Post Edit:
We got a tip from one of our readers that a similar video was actually done two years ago. Check out Elias and Renee’s wedding proposal video.
