Tasharuk, which means "collaborate" in Arabic, was launched as the Social Media Exchange’s response to numerous requests from around the region for Arabic-language digital and social media training materials. The website aggregates key knowledge resources in the field - many of them open-licensed - and categorizes them into more than two dozen relevant categories.

The aim of the site is to make it easier and faster for new trainers and community media groups to locate high-quality content related to digital and social media for empowerment and advocacy. By doing so, the site hopes not only to accelerate adoption and innovation in the strategic use of digital and social media but also to help local trainers lead in their communities.
