Screening and Conversation with Mohammad Malas

Join Beirut Art Center as it hosts a special screening of “On the Sands, Under the Sun” by Mohammad Malas, followed by a thorough debate and conversation.

Synopsis:
The film is a documentary about political prisoners struggling to come to terms with haunting memories on the anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

It is a reflection on the effects of prison in general and on theater director Ghassan Jbaii in particular. The artist uses his work to come to terms with haunting memories and regain a sense of place and purpose in the world outside of prison.
