Night Hike in Kfour Al-Arabi with Dale Corazon

Saturday, Oct 19, 2013
7:30pm -> 11:30pm
Kfour el-Arbi

The track is downhill, easy and exposed to moonlight. Participants will walk among trees (pine forest, olive), bushes and through the village. The illuminated views will be really remarkable.

The town was originally named “Kfour Al-Arabi,” in reference to the older generations of people who lived there. Others consider the town’s name to be derived from its Al-Arabi “Carriage” shape.

The evening will start with a visit to an old Byzantine church, where you will see a sarcophagi and old cemeteries before beginning the hike. The track is not hard; the walk will be about two hours (6 km). At the end, everyone will gather around a welcoming campfire to roast corn and potatoes and eat delicious homemade manakeesh.

Bring some light snacks, pack your backpacks with lunch, water, a wood stick, a bamboo basket, a small pocket knife is also useful, a cap, sunglasses and sunscreen. Wear comfortable walking shoes, preferably hiking shoes. DC members get a 20% discount on sports equipment at Sports 4 Ever. There will be a breakfast stop along the way.
