Book Swap Fundraiser

Thursday, Nov 14, 2013
7:30pm -> 10:00pm
Zico House
The concept is simple: bring a book, take a book.

You bring a book that you love and write a message in the cover saying why you love it. Then you write the name of the book on a tag and wear it around your neck at the event.

After placing your book on the bookshelf, you look through what other people have brought – maybe a Russian classic catches your eye, or perhaps a graphic novel from Japan. Once you see something you like, you search around for the person who brought the book (it’s easy, they’re wearing a tag with its name on it!).

Once you’ve heard why they love the book (maybe their grandfather gave it to them / maybe they read it while travelling in Vietnam) you decide whether you want to take it home … or put in back in the shelf in favor of a new one.

It’s a really fun opportunity to meet other book lovers, discover the story behind why someone loves a book, and then start a new reading adventure for yourself.

All the money raised from ticket sales for the event will go toward producing the musical, “Make Me.”

Cost:
10,000 LL at the door
