Shadi Torbey and Kristina Raczynska at Saint Louis Capuchin Church

Shadi Torbey (bass-bariton) and Kristina Raczynska (piano) perform at The Beirut Chants Festival 2013.

Torbey earned the highest degrees in Opera and Concert at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. His vocal training was completed at the Opéra Studio of La Monnaie and with José van Dam at the Chapelle Musicale Reine Elisabeth. Holder of many awards, he got the “Voix d’or” at the Voix d’Or competition (2001), and the 3rd prize at the prestigious Concours Musical Reine Elisabeth (2004).

In Beirut Chants, he will be accompanied by Raczyńska, who began studying piano at the age of five in Moscow. In 1998, she moved to Warsaw where she continued her studies.
