Sodetel

Sodetel is the oldest telecom operator in Lebanon. It was established in 1968. It has operated and maintained the first submarine cable in the Middle East, linking Beirut to France and allowing the transit of international communications.

Sodetel is owned by the Lebanese Government (50%) and France Telecom / Orange (50%).

Sodetel implements the latest technologies comparable to those available in the most developed countries. Currently offers all types of high-speed Internet services on wired and wireless infrastructure.

In June 2007, SODETEL introduced DSL services as an Internet Service Provider (ISP) and a Data Service Provider (through local loop unbundling) for consumers and companies. Customers have the choice among a range of speeds spanning from 1Mb /s to 8Mb /s, while corporate users are offered much higher rates.

The company recently launched a full data MVNO, and is now offering a range of mobile Internet services based on HSPA+ technologies.
