A Timeline of Recent Bombings in Lebanon

On Tuesday, an explosion ripped through Beirut’s southern suburb of Dahiyeh shortly after 11:00 a.m. This is the fourth bombing in less than a month to hit Lebanon. Here’s a quick recap of recent bombings in the country.

December 27

On December 27, Former Finance Minister Mohammad Chatah was killed along with seven other people in a car bomb that went off near Chatah’s detail at the Starco Center in downtown Beirut. Fifteen people were also wounded in the explosion.

January 2

A car bomb was detonated in the Haret Hreik area of Dahiyeh, killing at least five people and injuring over 70.

A car bomb killed four people and injured 42 others in Hermel. According to the Daily Star newspaper, the blast occurred during the morning rush hour near the town’s government building. Al Nusra Front in Lebanon later claimed responsibility for the attack on Twitter.

An explosion ripped through Beirut’s southern suburb of Dahiyeh shortly after 11:00 a.m. The explosion reportedly took place on the Martyr Ahmed Qassir road, some 30 meters away from where the January 2 blast took place.
