German producer Torsten Schroth will be in town this month while touring with popular Acoustic-Freak-Folk-Rock band Two Wooden Stones and he’s offering two workshops at Radio Beirut to musicians, producers and sound engineers wanting to fine tune their production skills.

Torsten is the owner of Proton Studios (www.proton-leipzig.de) in Leipzig (Germany) and has over 15 years of experience as a sound engineer. His clients include Stephen, Damien, and Julian Marley, along with a 30-piece orchestra; Tim McMillan, German hip-hop group Fettes Brot, German reggae and ska band, Yellow Umbrella, Two Wooden Stones and many more. He also been producing music for some of Germany’s top TV stations/radio/film production houses.

Torsten will offer two free workshops, with a limited capacity, one for beginners and one for advanced level participants.. If you’re interested to apply, send your CV and a short explanation of why you want to take part in the workshop to live@Radiobeirut.net.

Day 2: Music Production & Studio Mixing (Advanced)

Part 1 – Music production
– Writing a new song

Part 2 – The art of mixing
– Bring in the right effects at the right time
– Make aesthetic choices relating to dynamics, preparation, balance, and arrangements
(You may bring your own recording)

Part 3
– Q&A
