Wael Gamal is an Egyptian economic journalist, columnist, and researcher. He has more than 18 years of experience in journalism with local and international media including CNBC, BBC Arabic Service, and Thomson Reuters. He contributed to the launch of Al Shorouk, a daily Egyptian newspaper, in 2009 as its economic editor, before becoming its managing editor in 2010. He has studied Political Sciences in Cairo University and Finance and Investment in Middlesex University in London.

Ziad Abdel Samad is the Executive Director of the Arab NGO Network for Development (ANND) which brings together 30 NGOs and 9 national networks from 12 Arab countries and is active in the protection of social and economic rights. Abdel Samad is the co-founder and president of the Euro-Mediterranean NGO Platform; the platform brings together 82 national NGOs, national, regional and thematic networks from the two sides of the Mediterranean to mainly monitor the EU Neighborhood Policy. He is active in many global and regional networks working on democracy and elections, economic and social policies as well as the role of the International and inter-governmental agencies.
