The Human Scale (77 min)
50 % of the world’s population lives in urban areas. By 2050 this will increase to 80%. Life in a mega city is both enchanting and problematic. Today we face peak oil, climate change, loneliness and severe health issues due to our way of life. But why? The Danish architect and professor Jan Gehl has studied human behavior in cities through 40 years. He has documented how modern cities repel human interaction, and argues that we can build cities in a way, which takes human needs for inclusion and intimacy into account.

Design Is One (86 min)
“If you can’t find it, design it”, this has the motto of the duo that influenced immensely much of what we see today. Design is One is a documentary about Lella and Massimo Vignelli, the prolific husband and wife design duo whose company, Vignelli Associates, has done wide-ranging design work for clients like American Airlines and IBM. This film features great minds such as Barry Bergdoll, Richard Meier, Milton Glaser, Michael Bierut, Peter Eisenman, Steven Heller, Paola Antonelli and others. From graphics to interiors to products and corporate identities, the film brings us into the work and everyday moments of the Vignellis’ world, capturing their intelligence and creativity, as well as their humanity, warmth, and humor.

Google and The World Brain (90 min)
The story of the most ambitious project ever conceived on the Internet. In 2002 Google began to scan millions of books in an effort to create a giant global library, containing every book in existence. They had an even greater purpose – to create a higher form of intelligence, something that HG Wells had predicted in his 1937 essay “World Brain”. But over half the books Google scanned were in copyright, and authors across the world launched a campaign to stop Google, which climaxed in a New York courtroom in 2011. A film about the dreams, dilemmas and dangers of the Internet.
