Clay Therapy Training and Accredited Certificate

Beirut Art Therapy will be hosting distinguished art therapist Cornelia Elbrecht at the end of May.

She will give a clay therapy training and a corresponding accredited certificate in Beirut. Cornelia has 35 years of experience as an art therapist, she has studied at the School for Initiatic Art Therapy in Germany; she has also studied Jungian and Gestalt therapy, Bioenergetics, Shiatsu and Naturopathy. She worked as founder, coworker and trainer in Neuenzell, a center for self-awareness in the Black Forest in Germany. She is also a founder and director of Claerwen Retreat at Apollo Bay in Victoria, Australia. She gives courses and individual sessions internationally and she is the author of the books titled “The Transformation Journey” and “Trauma Healing at the Clay Field.” She is currently writing a chapter for Cathy Malchiodi’s newest book.

The clay therapy training is for psychologists, psychotherapists, social workers, nurses, teachers, caregivers, and all those who care for children and persons with traumatic experiences. It will focus on the sense of touch and the movement of the hands with the use of clay. Working with clay allows the therapist to work with the client in a primarily nonverbal way using a body-focused approach. The kinesthetic motor action of the hands combined with sensory perception can lead to a profound sense of resolution concerning early attachment issues, developmental setbacks and traumatic events experienced by patients, offering lasting therapeutic benefits. The training will be open to a limited number of participants to ensure that each participant will receive high quality experience.

Cost
$600 (including training, certificate, coffee breaks, lunch and one night out with the trainer.)
